VALYSTR Guides

Editorial standards

VALYSTR guides are written to help self-directed investors reason about stocks. These are the rules every guide follows.

  1. 1

    Numbers are recomputed

Every worked example is calculated in code, and the published figures are checked against an independent recalculation before a guide goes live.

  2. 2

    Examples are labelled

Illustrative companies and numbers are marked as illustrative. They describe no real business.

  3. 3

    No invented statistics

We do not publish figures, studies or returns we cannot source. Where evidence is general, the guide says so in words rather than inventing a percentage.

  4. 4

    Primary sources first

Company financials in VALYSTR come from SEC filings; guides point readers to the filings themselves (10-K, 10-Q, 8-K on EDGAR) wherever a claim depends on them.

  5. 5

    No paid placements, no picks

No company pays to appear in a guide, and guides do not recommend buying or selling any security. Real tickers appear only as neutral examples of where to look something up.

  6. 6

    Education, not advice

Guides explain methods. They do not know your circumstances, and nothing in them is financial, tax or legal advice.

  7. 7
